Free Blue Wordpress Theme – Dexlight

Dexlight is a free blue Wordpress theme created by Nikolai Bird. The theme is a rather conservative blue theme aimed at both casual and business bloggers. It was created a while ago and now available for free with credit to webdesign-guru.co.uk or 3qwe.com.

The two main templates are blog and homepage.
The homepage requires the use of widgets to populate.
The theme should run fine on all modern browsers. It does not work with IE6 (please let’s all stop).
Tested fine on Wordpress 3+

Stapler Icon – The making of

The Stapler Icon above was created using a photo of a stapler.

  1. I then cut out the shape in Photoshop.
  2. I then used th smart blur filter on it a few times in order to smooth the look.
  3. Then using new layers, I created gradients from 50% transparent white to 100% transparent white to highlight the edges.
